Liverpool are accelerating their pursuit of Paris Saint-Germain youngster Ibrahim Mbaye after the 18-year-old reportedly gave the green light to a move to Anfield.

According to RMC Sport's Fabrice Hawkins, Liverpool are working on a deal for the Senegal international, with talks between the Premier League club and PSG expected to begin soon.

Mbaye is regarded as one of the brightest young attacking talents in Europe.

The winger broke into PSG's first-team squad last season and also represented Senegal at the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Despite showing flashes of his enormous potential, regular playing time has been difficult to find because of the fierce competition in Luis Enrique's attack.

Liverpool believe that situation could work in their favour.

The Reds are rebuilding their attack following Mohamed Salah's departure and see Mbaye as a long-term investment rather than an immediate replacement. His pace, direct dribbling and ability to play on either wing have made him one of the club's priority targets this summer.

Interestingly, Mbaye is not the only PSG winger on Liverpool's shortlist.

The Merseyside club continue to pursue Bradley Barcola, although negotiations for the France international are expected to be far more complicated because PSG consider him a key part of their project.

PSG are not expected to let Mbaye leave cheaply either.

The French champions have him under contract until 2028 and reportedly want a significant fee before considering any sale.

Liverpool's interest is now moving beyond scouting reports and enquiries.

With the player reportedly open to the transfer, the focus shifts to negotiations between the two clubs. If an agreement can be reached, Mbaye could become one of the most exciting young additions to Liverpool's new-look attack.
