Manchester United Submit Official Bid For Carlos Baleba As Brighton Talks Advance
Manchester United have reportedly stepped up their pursuit of Carlos Baleba by submitting an official bid for the Brighton midfielder as Michael Carrick looks to strengthen his squad ahead of the new season.

United’s interest in Baleba has been growing for some time, with the Cameroon international identified as one of the club’s preferred targets for the midfield. The latest reports suggest that the Red Devils have now moved beyond initial enquiries and placed a formal offer on the table.
The proposed package is understood to be worth around £60 million guaranteed, with a further £5 million in add-ons, potentially taking the overall value of the deal to £65 million.
Brighton, however, are not expected to make negotiations straightforward. The Seagulls have consistently placed a high valuation on their young midfielder, who has established himself as one of the Premier League’s most promising defensive midfielders since arriving from Lille.
Baleba’s physical strength, ball-winning ability and composure in possession have made him an attractive option for United. Carrick is believed to view the 22-year-old as a player capable of providing greater control and intensity in the middle of the pitch.

United’s move could now trigger an important stage in negotiations, with Brighton expected to assess the structure of the offer before deciding whether to accept, reject or demand improved terms.
The midfielder is also reportedly open to the possibility of moving to Old Trafford, adding further encouragement to United’s pursuit.
With talks progressing, Manchester United will hope to reach an agreement with Brighton quickly and avoid a prolonged transfer saga.
If the deal goes through, Baleba would become another major addition to Carrick’s rebuilding project and could play a key role in United’s midfield for years to come.
