Minteh Keen On Liverpool Move After Reds Step Up Pursuit
Liverpool have received a major boost in their pursuit of Yankuba Minteh, with the Brighton winger reportedly keen on joining the Reds and attracted by the project at Anfield.

Liverpool have identified the 22-year-old Gambia international as one of their attacking targets as they search for additional firepower following Mohamed Salah’s departure. The club have already tested Brighton’s resolve with a £50 million offer, but the proposal was rejected.
Reports suggest Liverpool could return with an improved proposal, with Brighton understood to value their winger significantly higher. One report has claimed the Seagulls are looking for around £70 million for Minteh, meaning negotiations could become intense before the transfer window closes.
Minteh’s willingness to make the move could prove crucial. The left-footed winger primarily operates from the right flank, making him an attractive option as Liverpool attempt to replace the attacking output and explosiveness previously provided by Salah.
The Gambian has also impressed since arriving in England. After joining Brighton from Newcastle in 2024, Minteh has established himself as a dangerous Premier League wide attacker, combining pace, direct running and an aggressive approach in the final third.
However, Liverpool must overcome Brighton’s resistance. The Seagulls have already rejected a £50 million proposal, while reports of a further £60 million bid being rejected have also emerged.
With the transfer deadline approaching, Liverpool now face a decisive choice: increase their offer and attempt to prise Minteh away from Brighton, or move on to alternative targets such as Bradley Barcola.
For now, Minteh’s reported desire to join Liverpool gives the Reds an important advantage as negotiations continue.
