Mohamed Salah Set to Become Turkish Football Highest-Paid Star

Mohamed Salah is on the verge of becoming the highest-paid footballer in the Turkish Süper Lig after agreeing a blockbuster move to Trabzonspor.

The Egyptian superstar is expected to earn a reported €17 million net per season, plus a percentage of merchandise sales, putting him ahead of Victor Osimhen in the league's salary rankings. Several Turkish outlets have reported the agreement, while Trabzonspor have already confirmed they are in negotiations with Salah.

Until now, Victor Osimhen held the title as the league's top earner after joining Galatasaray on a deal reportedly worth €15 million net per year, with bonuses and commercial rights pushing his overall package above €20 million annually.

If Salah's reported contract is completed, the former Liverpool forward will move ahead on guaranteed salary alone. Reports also claim his agreement includes performance bonuses and a share of direct shirt sales, highlighting his enormous commercial value.

Salah's arrival is another sign that Turkish football is attracting some of the biggest names in the game.

In recent seasons, clubs have invested heavily to bring elite players to the Süper Lig, with stars such as Osimhen, André Onana, Paul Onuachu and Stefan Savić already featuring in the competition. Trabzonspor hope Salah's signing will help them challenge the traditional Istanbul giants after finishing third last season.

Although the financial details have not yet been officially confirmed by Trabzonspor, the transfer itself has moved into its final stages. Reuters reported that Salah is expected to travel for medical examinations before completing the move.

If everything goes as planned, Turkish football will not only welcome one of the greatest African players of all time but also a new salary king, with Salah replacing fellow African star Victor Osimhen at the top of the Süper Lig's earnings list.
