Mourinho Jokes About Six Press Conferences in One Week

José Mourinho has joked about the demands of a busy fixture schedule, claiming that the hardest part of playing three matches in a week is having to face the media six times.

The Real Madrid manager made the comments on Monday while speaking to reporters ahead of Tuesday's LaLiga clash with Elche.

Mourinho highlighted the number of press conferences managers are required to attend around a congested schedule, saying he was becoming tired of seeing the same journalists.

“Six press conferences in one week. I’m tired of you, and you’re tired of me,” Mourinho said.

“I always say the same thing, and you don’t have any more questions to ask me, but here we are because it’s our job, mine and yours.”

The Portuguese coach also pointed out that Real Madrid’s opponents are facing similar demands during the busy period.

Elche also played on Saturday and have the same number of matches during the week, while Atlético Madrid have a slightly different rest schedule.

Mourinho joked that if managers and journalists were allowed to skip one of the six press conferences, he would happily bring snacks and enjoy the lighter workload.

Despite the hectic schedule, Mourinho stressed the importance of managing his squad carefully, with player recovery and medical data helping determine how much his players should feature in the coming matches.
