Napoli have reached a verbal agreement with Chelsea to sign French defender Benoît Badiashile on loan, with a potential permanent transfer included in the deal.

According to the report, the two clubs have agreed on a €3 million loan fee, with a further €1 million in add-ons. Napoli will also have a €27 million buy option for the centre-back at the end of the loan spell.

Badiashile’s salary will be covered as part of the agreement, removing another potential obstacle to the transfer.

The move would see Badiashile become a new defensive option for Napoli manager Massimiliano Allegri, who is looking to strengthen his squad ahead of the new season.

The French international joined Chelsea from Monaco in January 2023 but has struggled to secure a consistent starting role at Stamford Bridge. A move to Serie A could now offer the 25-year-old an opportunity to play more regularly and rebuild his momentum.

With the club-to-club agreement in place, Badiashile is now expected to complete the necessary formalities before making his move to Naples.
