Real Betis Agree €20m Troy Parrott Transfer From AZ Alkmaar
Real Betis have reached an agreement to sign Troy Parrott from AZ Alkmaar in a deal worth around €20 million, bringing the Republic of Ireland striker closer to a major move to La Liga.

The agreement represents a significant step in Parrott’s career, with the 24-year-old now set to leave the Netherlands after an impressive spell with AZ Alkmaar. His performances have attracted interest from several clubs, but Betis have won the race for his signature after matching AZ’s reported €20m valuation.
Parrott’s rise has been particularly notable following his departure from Tottenham. After several loan spells in English football, the striker found consistency in the Netherlands and established himself as one of AZ’s most important attacking players.
Real Betis view Parrott as an important addition to their attacking options as they prepare for another demanding campaign. The Spanish club’s qualification for the Champions League is also understood to have played a major role in attracting the Irish international, giving him the opportunity to compete at the highest level of European football.
The transfer also ends a period of uncertainty surrounding Parrott’s future. West Ham had previously pushed strongly for his signature and reportedly submitted an €18m offer, but AZ rejected the proposal because it fell short of their €20m valuation. Betis subsequently moved into pole position and secured an agreement.
For Parrott, the move represents an opportunity to test himself in La Liga and continue his impressive development. His goalscoring record, physical presence and ability to lead the line will give Betis another attacking weapon as they look to compete domestically and in Europe.
With the agreement now in place, attention will turn to the completion of the remaining formalities before Parrott can officially begin his new chapter in Seville.
