Atlético Madrid Eye Ferran Torres as Potential Julián Álvarez Replacement

Ferran Torres has emerged as a potential transfer target for Atlético Madrid should the club lose Julián Álvarez this summer.

According to Spanish journalist Gerard Romero, Atlético sporting director Mateu Alemany is a long-time admirer of the Barcelona forward and considers him an ideal fit for Diego Simeone's attack. The move, however, will largely depend on whether Álvarez departs the Riyadh Air Metropolitano.

Torres' future at Barcelona also remains uncertain. The Spanish international has yet to sign a contract extension, and his role in Hansi Flick's squad could come under greater pressure if Barcelona complete the expected signing of Karim Adeyemi.

Despite enjoying a productive spell last season, Ferran could find himself facing increased competition for places, potentially opening the door to a move elsewhere.

For Atlético, Torres would offer versatility across the front line, with the ability to play as a winger or central striker. If Álvarez leaves, the Barcelona attacker could quickly become one of the club's priority targets.
