According to Joshua Kimmich, Germany have nobody to blame for their World Cup exit except themselves.
After Germany's elimination, Kimmich gave an honest assessment of the team's performance.
"It feels terrible," he said.
According to Kimmich, Germany struggled against teams many expected them to beat. He admitted the team did not play well in any of their three matches.

"We deserved to be eliminated," Kimmich said.
The midfielder also made it clear that the players must take full responsibility.
"It wasn't the coach. It wasn't the media. It wasn't the referee. It wasn't the opponent. It was just us."
Germany coach Julian Nagelsmann also spoke after the defeat. According to his comments, if a team is knocked out by Paraguay, it cannot call itself one of the world's top teams.
Former Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp disagreed with one key moment in the match. According to Klopp, Germany's disallowed goal should have stood. He even compared the decision to goals regularly scored in the Premier League, saying Arsenal would not have been champions if those goals were ruled out.
Germany's exit is one of the biggest surprises of the tournament.

But Kimmich's honesty may be the biggest talking point. Instead of making excuses, he admitted the truth.
Now the big question is this: Does Germany need a complete rebuild, or do these players simply need to perform when it matters most?
