Both games were played without the services of Neymar Jr, whom had reported into camp injured. Brazil faces yet another blow as Raphinha is ruled out due to hamstring.

Rays of hope shone in the team’s camp as it was reported that Neymar resumed full training with the team for the first time in the team’s training on Monday.

Neymar is likely to start his first competitive game for Brazil in three years on Wednesday as Brazil take on Scotland in the final group game of the tournament. Head coach Carlo Ancelotti contemplates the forwards fitness and is yet to take a final decision on the 34 year old’ stance for the game.

Calf strain picked up five weeks earlier in a league game has kept Neymar out of service for both club and country for a long time.

Neymar has been sidelined for Brazil for more than 650 days since picking up a knee injury in a World Cup qualifying match against Uruguay in 2023. Couple of other injury has kept the Brazilian out.

The year 2026 has seen Neymar feature in just fifteen games, where he managed a total of ten goal contributions, finding the back of the net on six occasions an setting up four other times for a teammate.

Speaking about his training performance on Monday, teammate Gabriel Martinelli said Neymar looked ready.

"He's performing at a very high level and you could see the intensity in today's training session. You could see how keen he is to be with us, and his quality is unquestionable,"

Brazil is sure to secure a spot in the round of 32, as a win or draw against Scotland is likely within reach; a point from the game is sure to keep the competition record holders, in the competition.

With Raphinha out injured, Carlo Ancelotti had Bournemouth youngster Rayan replace him against Haiti, but Zenit St Petersburg's Luiz Henrique seems favourite to start, should Neymar not make the match day squad.
