Robin van Persie's Son Set To Represent Morocco Over Netherlands
Shaqueel van Persie, the son of Dutch football icon Robin van Persie, is reportedly set to represent Morocco at international level, opting against continuing his career with the Netherlands in a move that further highlights the Atlas Lions' growing appeal to dual-nationality talents.

The 19-year-old Feyenoord forward, who is eligible to play for the Netherlands through his father and Morocco through his mother, Bouchra Elbali, has been widely reported to have taken sides with the North African nation.
While neither the Royal Moroccan Football Federation nor the Dutch Football Association has officially confirmed the decision, reports suggest Shaqueel has informed the relevant parties of his international preference.
Shaqueel was born in London during Robin van Persie's successful spell at Arsenal, he has steadily risen through Feyenoord's youth ranks. One of the club's brightest attacking prospects, he made his senior debut under the guidance of his father, who currently serves as Feyenoord's head coach.

A technically gifted forward with an eye for goal, Shaqueel has represented the Netherlands at youth level, but is yet to make a competitive senior appearance for the Dutch side.
FIFA's eligibility rules allow players to switch national allegiance before making a competitive senior appearance, provided they meet the required criteria.

If the reported switch is completed, Shaqueel will become the latest player of Moroccan heritage to commit his international future to the Atlas Lions, following 18 year Ayyoub Bouaddi, who represented Morocco at the World Cup, switching allegiance from France.
Morocco has enjoyed considerable success in convincing dual-nationality players to represent the country, helping to build one of Africa's strongest national teams in recent years.

The potential addition of young Van Persie would not only enhance Morocco's pool of emerging talent but also reinforce the federation's long-term strategy of recruiting elite players from the Moroccan diaspora.
With youth and potential on his side, the young forward will now hope to establish himself at club level and eventually earn his first senior call-up for the Atlas Lions.
