AS Roma have used their platform for an important cause, taking to the field with a special message of solidarity for Nepal.

Instead of their usual shirt sponsor, Roma players wore kits displaying the words “Together for Nepal”, in partnership with the United Nations World Food Programme, showing support for communities affected by devastating floods and landslides across the country.

The initiative goes beyond simply displaying a message. After the match, the shirts worn by Roma’s players will be auctioned, with the proceeds donated to help victims of the natural disasters in Nepal.

For a club with a global following, the gesture highlights the power football can have beyond the pitch. Roma have turned one of the most visible aspects of a football match—the players’ shirts—into a vehicle for raising awareness and providing tangible support to people in need.

Football is often described as more than a game, and Roma’s gesture is a reminder of exactly why. On this occasion, the Giallorossi are using their colours and global platform to stand alongside Nepal during a difficult moment.

A beautiful gesture from Roma—football showing its human side.
