Bruno Fernandes Has Been Battling Injury While Continuing to Play for Man United
Bruno Fernandes has been playing through an injury for almost three weeks, with the Manchester United captain passing late fitness tests to face Man City and Fulham.

Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes has reportedly been playing through an injury for close to three weeks, raising fresh concerns over his workload and current fitness.
According to ESPN’s Rob Dawson, Fernandes was a serious doubt for United’s Premier League meetings with Manchester City and Fulham, but passed late fitness tests on both occasions and went on to feature.
The issue is believed to have started around United’s Champions League victory over Sabah FK on September 10. Despite the problem, Fernandes played 90 minutes against both City and Fulham, while also featuring for the final 20 minutes of United’s Carabao Cup defeat to Brighton.
The midfielder subsequently joined up with Portugal but was left out of the squad for the Nations League meeting with Norway. Portugal coach Jorge Jesus confirmed that Fernandes arrived carrying an injury and had been playing through pain for several matches.
With an already publicised absence during Portugal’s Nations League victory over Norway because of a slight discomfort, his fitness will remain a key storyline for both Portugal and Manchester United heading into the next round of fixtures.
