David Raya Can Make Premier League History

David Raya has the chance to make Premier League history this season after winning the Golden Glove in each of his last three campaigns.

The Arsenal goalkeeper claimed the award in 2023/24, 2024/25 and 2025/26, becoming only the fourth goalkeeper in Premier League history to win it three seasons in a row after Pepe Reina, Joe Hart and Ederson.

However, no goalkeeper has ever won the Golden Glove four consecutive times.

That gives Raya a chance to create a record of his own if he finishes the 2026/27 season with the most Premier League clean sheets.

The Spaniard has already made a strong start, keeping three clean sheets in his first five league appearances this season. He currently has 71 clean sheets in 174 Premier League appearances, dating back to his time with Brentford and Arsenal.

Raya's latest Golden Glove came after an outstanding 2025/26 campaign in which he kept 19 clean sheets in 37 appearances, helping Arsenal win their first Premier League title in 22 years.

His performances have also earned recognition beyond the Premier League.

Raya is among the nominees for the 2026 Yashin Trophy, which is awarded to the world's best goalkeeper as part of the Ballon d'Or awards.

Mikel Arteta has also been full of praise for his goalkeeper.

“He's been a tremendous signing, there is no question about that,” the Arsenal manager said.

“He has elevated the team to a different level and now we have to maintain that level.”

Arteta also highlighted Raya's mentality, saying the goalkeeper had overcome difficulties and challenges to reach his current level.

With another Golden Glove potentially putting him alone at the top for consecutive wins, Raya has history within his reach.
