Harry Kane Eyes MLS and NFL Career Double

Harry Kane has revealed an unusual plan for the later stages of his football career, admitting he could combine playing in Major League Soccer with becoming an NFL placekicker.

The England captain discussed the possibility while speaking to reporters at the national team's training camp on Wednesday.

Kane, 33, has long been interested in American football and previously talked about trying his hand as an NFL kicker after retiring from soccer.

However, he has now taken the idea a step further by suggesting that an MLS move could allow him to pursue both sports at the same time.

“Maybe if I am in the MLS in the future or somewhere like that it might be a thing where you could connect the two maybe with the seasons,” Kane said.

The Bayern Munich striker believes his experience taking penalties could help him make the transition to placekicking, although he recognises that becoming an NFL player would require serious preparation.

“I take penalties and it is a very similar pressure, technique,” Kane explained.

He added that he would give himself six months to a year of training if he decided to pursue the opportunity.

Kane also stressed that this is not something he is considering immediately.

The striker remains focused on football and said he currently wants to continue playing at the highest level for as long as possible. He is also reportedly close to agreeing a new contract with Bayern Munich.

For now, the idea remains exactly that: an ambitious future possibility.

But if Kane eventually finishes his soccer career in MLS and walks onto an NFL field as a kicker, his retirement chapter could look very different from that of almost any other footballer.
