Hussain Sajwani Reportedly Interested in Manchester United Takeover

Emirati billionaire and DAMAC founder Hussain Sajwani has reportedly emerged as a potential interested party in Manchester United, with claims suggesting he could explore an outright purchase of the Premier League giants.

Sajwani, the founder and chairman of DAMAC Properties and DAMAC Group, is one of the UAE’s most prominent businessmen, with investments spanning real estate, hospitality, luxury brands and other sectors.

According to the reports circulating, Sajwani’s alleged vision for Manchester United would involve a major financial commitment to rebuilding the club and competing at the highest level again.

The reported plans include £1.5 billion in transfer investment, taking Manchester United off the New York Stock Exchange, placing DAMAC on the club’s shirt, and potentially securing naming rights for the club’s planned new stadium.

Manchester United are currently listed on the New York Stock Exchange, while the Glazer family remains the only shareholder with at least 10% of the club’s voting rights, according to the club’s official information.

The club is also developing plans for a new 100,000-capacity stadium, with Manchester United confirming that naming-rights opportunities could form part of the wider project.

The reports further claim that Sajwani has been a Manchester United supporter since childhood and has long wanted to become involved with the club.

However, there has been no official confirmation from Sajwani, DAMAC or Manchester United that a takeover bid has been submitted.
