Iniesta Sends Emotional Message to Messi After Jorge’s Death

Andrés Iniesta has sent an emotional message of support to Lionel Messi following the death of his father, Jorge Messi.

According to Fabrizio Romano, the former Barcelona midfielder reached out to his longtime teammate and friend during one of the most difficult moments of Messi's life.

“I’m so sorry, Leo,” Iniesta said.

“There are no words that can console you after losing your father.”

Iniesta also sent his love to Messi and his entire family before paying tribute to Jorge.

“Rest in peace, Jorge. You will always live on in our memory.”

Iniesta and Messi shared some of the greatest years in Barcelona's history. The pair played together for more than a decade, winning multiple La Liga titles, Champions League trophies and other major honours.

Their relationship went beyond what happened on the pitch. Iniesta was one of the senior figures in the Barcelona dressing room during Messi's rise to becoming the club's greatest goalscorer and one of football's most decorated players.

Jorge Messi was also a major part of Lionel's journey. He supported his son from his childhood in Rosario and later became his agent, remaining closely involved throughout Messi's career.

Jorge died at the age of 68, with Messi returning to Argentina with his family for his father's private funeral.

The tributes from former teammates such as Iniesta have shown the close bonds Messi built during his years at Barcelona.

For Iniesta, this was more than a message between former teammates.

It was a farewell to someone who had been part of Messi's extraordinary journey from the very beginning.
