Luis Suárez has sent a heartfelt message to Lionel Messi following the death of his father, Jorge Messi.

The former Barcelona teammates and current team mates in Inter Miami have remained close friends since their years together at Camp Nou, and Suárez has now offered his support to Messi and his family during their difficult time.

In a message shared following Jorge Messi’s death, Suárez sent a big hug to his former teammate and expressed his love and condolences to the Messi family.

Jorge Messi died on August 7 at the age of 68. Lionel Messi subsequently returned to Argentina with his family for a private farewell.

Jorge was a major figure throughout Lionel's life and career. He supported his son from his early days in Rosario and later became his agent, remaining closely involved as Messi developed into one of football's most successful players.

Suárez and Messi developed a particularly close friendship during their time at Barcelona. Alongside Neymar, they formed the famous attacking trio known as MSN and helped Barcelona win several major trophies.

Their friendship continued after Suárez left Barcelona, with the pair later becoming teammates again at Inter Miami.

For Messi, however, this is a moment that goes far beyond football.

Jorge was there from the beginning of his journey, and the loss has brought an intensely personal period for the Argentina captain.

Suárez's message is another reminder of the strong bond between the two players, even years after they stopped playing together at Barcelona.

Rest in peace, Jorge Messi. 🕊️
