Messi's Final Argentina Night Set to Be Emotional

Lionel Messi's final night with Argentina is being planned as far more than just another football match.

The 39-year-old is expected to arrive in Argentina at the beginning of October ahead of his farewell appearance against Benin at the Estadio Monumental on October 6.

The Argentine Football Association has already confirmed that the match will mark Messi's final appearance for the national team after he announced his international retirement in August.

Now, preparations are underway for what promises to be an emotional tribute to the greatest player in Argentina's history.

According to reports, the Monumental will feature giant flags and banners dedicated to Messi, while special videos, invited guests and different tributes to his career are also being planned.

The farewell will not be limited to the 90 minutes against Benin. Pre-match events are expected to form part of the celebrations as Argentina prepares to say goodbye to its captain in front of the home supporters.

There is also a plan to give Messi a microphone after the final whistle so he can address the crowd.

However, that moment is not guaranteed. Reports say it will depend on Messi's emotional state after what is expected to be an extremely difficult night for the Argentina captain.

Messi will not feature in Argentina's preceding friendlies against Bolivia on September 30 and Burkina Faso on October 3. His final appearance will come exclusively against Benin at the Monumental.

The AFA has already described the occasion as the farewell Messi deserves, with president Claudio Tapia confirming the decision to give the national team's iconic No. 10 a final night in front of the Argentine supporters.
