Nader Mohammadi’s Flip Throw-In Assist Goes Viral

Nader Mohammadi has gone viral after producing one of the most unusual assists seen in Russian football this season.

The Spartak Kostroma defender used a spectacular front flip during a throw-in against SKA-Khabarovsk in Russia’s second division.

Mohammadi took a long run-up before launching himself into a somersault and sending the ball deep into the penalty area. His throw reached teammate Amur Kalmykov, who headed the ball into the net.

The goal helped Spartak Kostroma secure a 3-1 victory, with Mohammadi’s extraordinary throw quickly becoming the main talking point from the match.

The 29-year-old Iranian defender only joined Spartak Kostroma in July after previously playing for clubs including Paykan, Tractor, Gol Gohar and Zob Ahan in Iran.

This is not the first time Mohammadi has attracted attention for his long throw-ins. He previously went viral in Iran after producing a huge throw from close to his own half during a 2021 match.

But this latest effort takes his throw-in technique to another level.
