Ronaldo Wedding Mix-Up Leaves Thousands of Fans Surrounding Confused Bride in Madeira
Thousands of Ronaldo fans gathered outside Funchal Cathedral expecting his wedding to Georgina RodrĂguez, but accidentally mobbed a local bride instead.

More than 2,000 Cristiano Ronaldo fans were left stunned after gathering outside Madeira’s Funchal Cathedral believing they were about to witness the football superstar marry Georgina RodrĂguez.
Instead, the huge crowd was met by a Portuguese couple, Fábio Ramos and Fátima Nicole Cunha Teixeira, who were arriving for their own wedding ceremony.
Many fans had reportedly gathered outside the cathedral wearing Ronaldo shirts and expecting to catch a glimpse of the Al-Nassr superstar and Georgina. Confusion reached another level when a grey Rolls-Royce carrying the bride arrived, with some fans mistakenly believing the woman inside was Georgina.
The bride was subsequently surrounded by excited supporters, while her bridesmaids reportedly struggled to clear a path for her to reach the cathedral. One bridesmaid had to make it clear to the crowd that the bride was not Georgina.

The priest officiating the ceremony, Father Marcos Gonçalves, later confirmed that the couple had no connection whatsoever to Ronaldo and Georgina. He also stated that it was the only wedding scheduled at the cathedral that day.
The bizarre scenes were fuelled by widespread reports that Ronaldo and Georgina were planning to marry in Madeira on August 8. Several outlets had reported that Funchal Cathedral would be the venue, although the couple had not officially confirmed the exact details.
Ronaldo and Georgina have been engaged since August 2025, and speculation surrounding their wedding has intensified in recent days.
For Fábio and Fátima, however, what should have been an intimate wedding day suddenly became an unforgettable encounter with thousands of Ronaldo supporters.
It was certainly a wedding crowd — just not the one everyone thought it was.
