Spain Conquer Football as their Women Emerge World Champions

Spain's domination of international football continues.

After Spain's U20 women's team defeated DPR Korea on penalties to win the FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup, another major trophy has been added to an extraordinary list of recent Spanish successes.

The latest triumph comes just months after the senior men's team won the 2026 FIFA World Cup, defeating Argentina 1–0 after extra time to claim their second World Cup title.

The youth teams have been particularly dominant.

Spain's men's U19 side won the 2026 European Championship by beating Germany 2–0, securing the country's record-extending 10th title in the competition.

The women's U19 team went even further, winning the European Championship for an unprecedented fifth consecutive time in July 2026 after beating Germany 1–0. It was their eighth title overall.

At senior level, Spain are also the reigning men's and women's world champions. FIFA noted after the men's 2026 triumph that Spain became the first country to simultaneously hold both the men's and women's World Cup titles.

The women's senior team also retained the UEFA Women's Nations League in 2025, beating Germany 3–0 on aggregate in the final.

And now the U20 women have added another world title.

From the senior teams to the youth ranks, Spain continue to produce winning teams across almost every level of international football.
