Christensen Ends Exit Speculation With Barcelona Commitment
Barcelona has announced the contract renewal of defender Andreas Christensen until the summer of 2028. The 30 year old’ contract which stood to expire on June 30th, has reached an agreement for extension.

Christensen has just penned down his signature to the club for a period of two more years, which runs till the summers of 2028.
“FC Barcelona and Andreas Christensen have reached an agreement for the extension of the Danish defender’s contract, keeping him at the Club until 30 June 2028,” a statement released by the club’ insider.
The centre-back adds another two seasons to his deal and the Club and the player will make the agreement official in time to come at the Club office.
Christensen has spent a period of four years in Barcelona, arriving as a free agent from Chelsea after his contract at the London side expired in the summer of 2022.
After a successful debut campaign, playing a key role in the Xavi Hernandez La Liga winning side, the defender had struggled to feature regularly, as a result of injuries.
Christensen failed to register a single minute in the second half of last season due to a partial ACL tear sustained in December, which led to major criticism over his service and future at the club.
The Danish international has found favours in the eye of club president Joan Laporta, whom has decided to stick with the defender through his ordeal. Head coach Hansi Flick, also is a fan of the Dane.
The new contract which will run till 2028, though unmentioned by the club statement, doesn’t include a clause for either party to terminate the contract comw 2027.
