Was Juventus the Problem? Three Former Stars Are Already Thriving Elsewhere

Something interesting is happening to three players who recently moved away from Juventus: they are all starting to look like completely different footballers.

Jonathan David, Dušan Vlahović and Loïs Openda have all made fast starts at their new clubs, immediately putting their names among the early-season talking points.

Jonathan David has already found the net for Atlético Madrid, scoring once in just 47 minutes of action.

Dušan Vlahović has been even more prolific, scoring four goals in three games for Beşiktaş.

Loïs Openda has also hit the ground running at Lyon, registering three goals and one assist in five games.

That doesn't automatically mean Juventus were the problem. Different coaches, systems and teammates can transform a player's confidence and output. But three former Juventus attackers producing immediately after leaving is difficult to ignore.

The question, then, is whether Juventus were getting the best out of these players — or simply failing to provide the environment they needed to flourish.

One hot start can be dismissed as a coincidence. Three players doing it at the same time? That's a pattern worth watching.

If their form continues, the debate around Juventus' handling of attacking talent will only grow louder.
