Belgium's World Cup campaign got off to a frustrating start after they were held to a 1-1 draw by Egypt in Group G.
Many fans expected Belgium to begin the tournament with a victory. Instead, they were forced to come from behind after a strong display from the Egyptians.
According to match reports, Egypt shocked Belgium in the 19th minute when Emam Ashour fired his side into the lead after being set up by Mohamed Salah. Egypt looked organised, dangerous on the counterattack and full of confidence despite facing one of Europe's biggest teams.
The result has already sparked a major debate.
Are Belgium still living off their old reputation?
For long periods, Kevin De Bruyne and his teammates controlled possession but struggled to break down Egypt's disciplined defence. Goalkeeper Mostafa Shobeir also played a key role, producing important saves to frustrate Belgium's attack.
Belgium eventually found an equaliser in the second half, but it came in fortunate circumstances. According to reports, Romelu Lukaku made an immediate impact after coming off the bench, with his presence helping force an own goal from Mohamed Hany in the 66th minute.
That only raises another question.
Why didn't Lukaku start?
According to Reuters, the striker began the match on the bench after an injury-affected season. However, Belgium looked more dangerous once he entered the game, leading many fans to wonder whether the decision cost them two valuable points.
Egypt will leave the match with plenty of confidence. Salah led by example, Ashour took his goal brilliantly, and the defence stood firm under pressure.
For Belgium, the warning signs are already there.
This was supposed to be a comfortable start.
Instead, Egypt may have exposed problems that could haunt Belgium throughout the tournament.
