France produced another commanding display at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, defeating Norway 4-1 to seal top spot in Group I with a flawless record of three wins from three matches.

The star of the evening was Ousmane Dembélé, who delivered a sensational first-half hat-trick. The winger opened the scoring in the 7th minute before doubling France's advantage in the 20th minute. Norway responded almost immediately through Thelo Aasgaard, who pulled one back in the 21st minute to briefly raise hopes of a comeback.

However, Dembélé completed his hat-trick in the 32nd minute, restoring France's two-goal cushion before halftime. Désiré Doué then capped off the victory with a stoppage-time strike in the 90+4th minute, sealing an emphatic 4-1 triumph.

The victory means France advance to the Round of 32 as Group I winners, where they will face one of the tournament's best third-placed teams from Groups C, D, F, G or H, with the exact opponent to be confirmed once all group-stage matches are completed. Norway also progress to the knockout stage as Group I runners-up and will face Ivory Coast in the Round of 32.
