Atlético Madrid Want Marc Bernal in Julián Álvarez Deal as Barcelona Stand Firm
Atlético Madrid want Marc Bernal included in Barcelona's pursuit of Julián Álvarez, but the Catalan club have made it clear the teenage midfielder is not available for any swap deal.

Barcelona's pursuit of Julián Álvarez has hit another obstacle after Atlético Madrid reportedly asked for highly-rated midfielder Marc Bernal to be included in any potential agreement.
According to Mundo Deportivo, Atlético are interested in taking Bernal as part of a package after Barcelona submitted a €100 million offer for the Argentine forward.

However, Barcelona have made their stance crystal clear: Marc Bernal is not for sale and will not be used as a bargaining chip in negotiations. The 19-year-old is regarded as one of the club's untouchable talents, with Hansi Flick viewing him as a key piece of Barça's long-term project following his impressive return from injury.
While the Catalan giants remain open to including other players in an effort to convince Atlético, Bernal is reportedly off the table. That position could complicate talks, with Atlético determined to receive a package they consider worthy of parting with one of Europe's most sought-after strikers.
Negotiations are expected to continue, but Barcelona's refusal to sacrifice Bernal underlines just how highly they rate the Spanish midfielder as they attempt to land Álvarez without weakening the club's future core.
