Brighton & Hove Albion have submitted a new official offer to Tottenham Hotspur for highly-rated Croatian defender Luka Vušković, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.

The latest proposal is understood to be worth £45 million, including add-ons, as Brighton intensify their efforts to secure one of Europe's most promising young centre-backs. The Seagulls have been tracking Vušković for some time and remain determined to bring him to the Amex Stadium this summer.

Romano reports that Brighton's new bid follows previous offers that were turned down by Tottenham. Despite the significant increase in value, Spurs are still weighing up their options and have not yet made a final decision on the player's future.

Vušković, 19, is regarded as one of the brightest defensive talents in European football. Tottenham signed the Croatian prospect from Hajduk Split and have closely monitored his development, viewing him as a key player for the future.

However, Brighton's reputation for developing young talent and providing regular first-team opportunities could make the move appealing to the defender if an agreement is eventually reached.

With interest in Vušković continuing to grow, Tottenham now face an important decision over whether to cash in on the youngster or keep him as part of their long-term plans.
