According to reports in Turkey, Galatasaray and Fenerbahçe are both interested in signing the Trabzonspor forward before the new Süper Lig season begins.
Fenerbahçe have already made a move by offering around €20 million plus forward Oğuz Aydın in exchange for Onuachu. However, Trabzonspor are said to value the Nigerian striker much higher and are not ready to let him leave easily.
Onuachu enjoyed an outstanding season with Trabzonspor, scoring 22 league goals and winning the Süper Lig Golden Boot. His performances have also attracted interest from clubs in Saudi Arabia.
While Fenerbahçe are trying to reach an agreement with Trabzonspor, reports claim Galatasaray are using Osimhen's close friendship with Onuachu to strengthen their chances.
The two Super Eagles stars have played together for Nigeria for several years, and Turkish media reports say Osimhen has been encouraging Onuachu to choose Galatasaray if he decides to leave Trabzonspor.
Trabzonspor are still hoping to keep Onuachu and are expected to reject any offer below their asking price. At the same time, the club are reportedly looking at possible replacements in case the Nigerian striker eventually leaves.
For now, Onuachu remains a Trabzonspor player, while Galatasaray and Fenerbahçe continue to battle for one of the league's most dangerous forwards. The transfer race is expected to gather pace in the coming days.
