Gift Orban Gets Fresh Start as Amedspor Complete Loan Deal

One-time Super Eagles call up Gift Orban has officially joined newly promoted Turkish Süper Lig club Amedspor on a season-long loan from Bundesliga side Hoffenheim.

According to Hoffenheim and several German reports, the deal includes a purchase clause that could become permanent under certain conditions.

For Orban, this is more than just another transfer. It is another chance to prove that he still has what it takes to play at the highest level.

The 24-year-old spent last season on loan at Hellas Verona. He scored seven goals and provided two assists, but his efforts were not enough to stop the Italian club from being relegated from Serie A. Verona decided against keeping him, and he returned to Hoffenheim.

Hoffenheim also made it clear that Orban was not part of their plans for the new season. After receiving interest from several clubs, both parties agreed that a move to Amedspor was the best option.

Reports in Germany say Amedspor will pay a €1 million loan fee. The agreement also contains a purchase clause worth €4 million, which can become mandatory if certain conditions are met.

Orban was once regarded as one of Nigeria's brightest young strikers after his explosive spell with Gent. However, difficult periods at Lyon, Hoffenheim and Verona slowed his progress.

Now, he has another opportunity.

Amedspor are preparing for their first season in the Turkish top flight and have made Orban one of their biggest signings of the summer. Regular football could help the Nigerian striker rebuild his confidence and put himself back into Super Eagles contention.
