Robert Lewandowski has revealed that his departure from Barcelona marked the end of his European club career, insisting he never considered playing for another team on the continent before making the switch to Major League Soccer.

The Polish striker reflected emotionally on his decision, saying:

"My time at Barcelona had come to an end, and after that, I didn't want to continue in Europe."

Lewandowski also made it clear that his loyalty to Barcelona played a major role in that decision.

"I couldn't imagine myself at another European club that wasn't Barça."

After bringing an end to his successful spell at Barcelona, Lewandowski completed a move to MLS where he joined Chicago Fire, choosing to continue his career in the United States rather than join another European side. His decision reflected his belief that Barcelona was the final club of his European journey.

The former Bayern Munich star enjoyed a trophy-filled career in Europe, winning league titles in Germany and Spain while establishing himself as one of the greatest strikers of his generation. His latest comments underline the respect and affection he holds for Barcelona, with the club becoming the last European team he was willing to represent.

His remarks are likely to resonate with Barcelona supporters, who will appreciate the veteran forward's declaration that he never envisioned wearing the shirt of another European rival after leaving Camp Nou.
