Cristian Romero has reportedly identified Barcelona as his preferred destination if he leaves Tottenham Hotspur this summer, despite interest from Atlético Madrid and Inter Milan.

According to SPORT, the Argentine defender would favour a move to the Catalan giants over the other clubs currently monitoring his situation. However, completing such a transfer is far from straightforward.

Barcelona are not actively prioritising the signing of a new centre-back in the current transfer window, making a permanent deal difficult due to both squad planning and financial constraints. As things stand, the Blaugrana have other areas of the squad they consider more urgent.

The report suggests that the situation could change if Tottenham become open to a loan deal. In that scenario, Barcelona are expected to seriously explore the opportunity to bring the 2022 World Cup winner to Camp Nou.

For now, there is no agreement between the clubs and no official offer has been submitted. Romero remains a key player for Spurs, and any decision regarding his future is expected to depend on Tottenham's willingness to negotiate.

While Barcelona's interest is currently limited by their priorities, Romero's reported preference could become an important factor if his availability changes later in the window.
