Serie A side Como are on the verge of completing one of the biggest signings in the club's history, with Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah edging closer to a move to Italy.

Fresh negotiations between the two clubs have brought the deal to an advanced stage, with only the final details left to be resolved before an agreement is reached. Reports in Italy indicate that another meeting is scheduled to finalize the transfer after Chelsea rejected two previous offers.

The proposed package is expected to be worth around £29.5 million, including bonuses, reflecting Chelsea's valuation of the England international.

Chalobah has attracted interest from several clubs this summer, including Inter Milan, but Como—managed by former Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fàbregas—appear to have won the race.

If completed, the transfer would represent another major statement of intent from Como as they continue strengthening their squad ahead of the new season. For Chelsea, the sale would generate significant funds while allowing the defender to pursue regular first-team football in Serie A.
