Liverpool have suffered a major setback in their pursuit of Ivory Coast winger Yan Diomandé after RB Leipzig rejected an initial €100 million offer for the highly-rated youngster. According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, the Bundesliga club are holding out for a higher fee and expect more European giants to enter the race in the coming weeks.

Diomandé has emerged as one of the hottest prospects in world football following a standout campaign with Leipzig and an impressive start to the 2026 FIFA World Cup with Côte d’Ivoire. His performances have attracted strong interest from Liverpool, while Paris Saint-Germain are also monitoring the situation closely.

Reports suggest Liverpool submitted a package worth €100 million, but Leipzig remain reluctant to sell and are believed to value the 19-year-old significantly higher. The German club are aware that competition from PSG and other elite clubs could spark a bidding war and drive the price even further upward.

Despite the rejection, Liverpool are expected to continue pushing for the winger, who has been identified as a priority target as the club looks to strengthen its attacking options ahead of the new season. Romano has previously reported that the Reds are prepared to offer a lucrative contract in an effort to beat rival suitors to his signature.

With the transfer battle intensifying and Diomandé's stock continuing to rise at the World Cup, this saga could become one of the biggest stories of the summer transfer window.
