Mauro Icardi has broken his silence after claiming a major victory in his long-running divorce battle with ex-wife Wanda Nara.

The former Galatasaray striker took to Instagram to celebrate after an Italian court rejected what he described as "outrageous" financial demands made during their divorce proceedings.

According to Icardi, Nara had requested €250,000 every month for herself, €65,000 per month for each of their two daughters, and another €100,000 monthly as part of the divorce settlement.

The 33-year-old said the court rejected those requests on June 1 before also dismissing an appeal on July 27, leaving only the final divorce ruling to be completed.

"It's good to see that the Italian justice system works," Icardi wrote. "Back in 2024, people called me crazy for insisting that everything should be handled in Italy."

If Icardi's claims accurately reflect the court's decisions, it marks a significant setback for Wanda Nara in one of football's most public and controversial divorces.

The pair married in 2014 after Nara's divorce from former Argentina striker Maxi López, who had previously played alongside Icardi at Sampdoria. Their relationship attracted global attention from the beginning and has remained one of football's most talked-about personal stories.

It's important to note that Icardi is currently a free agent and in no current contract with any club.

The latest development is likely to divide opinion once again.

Supporters of Icardi argue the court's decision proves his position was justified and that the financial demands were excessive. Others point out that divorce proceedings often involve complex legal and family matters, and a court ruling does not necessarily tell the full story behind private negotiations.

Neither the Italian court documents nor Wanda Nara's legal team have publicly responded to Icardi's statement at the time of writing.

One thing is certain: after years of accusations, public statements and courtroom battles, the bitter dispute between Icardi and Nara is still making headlines, even as the final stage of their divorce approaches.
