Chelsea’s pursuit of Rogers intensified following his impressive performances for both Aston Villa and England. The versatile attacker played a key role in Villa’s recent successes in a Europe, winning the Europa League and finishing 4th in the league, thus further enhancing his resumé with a series of standout displays at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The agreement represents a major statement of intent from Chelsea as they continue to strengthen their squad with elite young talent. Rogers’ ability to operate across multiple attacking positions is seen as a perfect fit for the club’s long-term project.

Aston Villa had been reluctant to part ways with one of their most valuable assets, but Chelsea’s substantial offer reportedly convinced the Midlands club to sanction the transfer.

If completed, Rogers would become one of the most expensive signings in Chelsea’s history and a marquee addition to their attacking options ahead of the new season.

An official announcement is expected once the player completes his medical examinations and signs the necessary contracts, bringing an end to one of the summer’s most significant transfer sagas.
